Lute FP Their first single “A Smidge Of Evil” utterly captivated me with its brilliant fusion of melody, heavy, and irony. Their subsequent singles were like bait on the hook, luring me in. I bought this LP on the strength of “The Letter From Snake” and “An Evil Song”, but while the ironic lyrics remain, the aesthetic of this album veers towards conventional songwriting in the doom/rock domain. It’s good, but not what I was hoping for.

FDJ (Desert Psychlist) Excellent blend of rocks classic, blues and stoner dressed up with some really effective and ear catching vocal melodies, there is also a refreshing tongue in cheek humour running through many of the lyrics on here so don't go getting upset if things are not as dour and dire as your usual listening fare, music is allowed to be fun too! Favorite track: The Evil Song.

Message from Dan about LEAVING EVIL LYING AROUND: Somewhere out there, a super villain is plotting to destroy all of mankind and rule the Earth all by himself. However, there is no way of knowing whether or not he will succeed because there are so many other super villains out there trying to do the same thing.

If they would team up, they’d probably get the job done in no time. But it would probably be better not to give them any stupid ideas since they have already been rather effective as it is.

It’s hard to explore a subject like this without coming off as depressing and defeated, but I find that with the right amount of cynicism and humor, it becomes apparent that it’s something that is more important to engage with rather than to ignore or simply give up on, even when it seems impossible. After all, the show must go on.

In no way is this album an endorsement of any super villain activity anywhere, and all super villains are prohibited from using this album for their evil deeds.
